"Area shopping center to welcome high-end juicer and Hawaiian swimwear line."
No, this is not a misprint from Santa Barbara.
Silicon Valley's Santana Row shopping center on Tuesday announced two new tenants set to open later this fall: Pressed Juicery and Letarte Swimwear. The retail outposts will be the first in the South Bay market for both companies.
Southern California-based Pressed Juicery will open its first San Jose location at the mall in December, offering fruit, vegetable and nut-based juices, cold-brewed coffee and flavored waters.
The company with more than a dozen locations has been aggressively building its presence in the San Francisco market with products that cater to consumers with disposable income. Online pricing lists six 16-ounce cold-pressed juices featuring ingredients like kale, Brazil nut and cayenne pepper for a cool $45.
The company's website also touts a coveted review from Oprah: "I feel really good and energized," the billionaire media mogul wrote of the juices in her eponymous magazine.
Letarte Swimwear, started by two sisters living in Maui, will open at Santana Row in November. The company sells swimwear and accessories — with bikinis priced under $100 — and already counts two California locations in Malibu and Newport Beach.
Though the mixed-use Santana Row shopping center is in the midst of an expansion of luxury housing and office space, the 647,000-square-foot center also remains a South Bay mainstay for retailers targeting affluent Silicon Valley workers.
